Technicians / ServiceCompany Description
Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to install, maintain, and repair plant, machinery, and equipment to a high standard while ensuring safety at all times. The role includes carrying out routine electrical maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime, and installing new electrical services in line with regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
You will work safely and responsibly, following all Safe Systems of Work, COSHH requirements, and PPE standards. You'll ensure tools, machinery, and equipment are used correctly and report any defects immediately.
The role involves close collaboration with Production Team Leaders to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption, supporting troubleshooting activities, and helping identify preventive maintenance improvements. You may also be required to assist with out-of-hours breakdowns and support with purchasing maintenance consumables and equipment.
If you're a safety-focused engineer with strong technical skills and experience in maintaining production machinery and electrical systems, we'd like to hear from you.
Qualifications
Essential:
We are seeking an experienced electrician (minimum 4 years) with a completed electrical apprenticeship and strong technical ability across motors, drives, PLC panels, calibration, testing and inspection (17th/18th Edition). You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, communicate clearly, read drawings, design installations, and problem-solve effectively. Experience working at height (including MEWPs), a strong safety-first attitude, good time management, organisation skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are required. Practical skills, supplier liaison experience, and a positive, collaborative approach are also essential.
Desirable:
Computer literacy, additional relevant qualifications, and further Health & Safety training are beneficial.
Additional Information
We offer a supportive and rewarding work environment that values your wellbeing and work-life balance. Enjoy the benefits of a 4-day working week, giving you more time for what matters most. We also provide an excellent pension scheme, life assurance, and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme. Our team regularly takes part in social and wellbeing events, helping you stay connected, supported, and engaged both in and outside of work.
