The Role

Macclesfield College has an innovative vision in delivering high quality education to a wide range of learners.

This is a hands-on role working as a member of the vocational Building Services team. The Plumbing and Electrical Technician provides effective technical support for tutors and students, ensuring that the plumbing provision operates to a consistently high standard. The role includes maintaining plumbing and electrical equipment and practical facilities, assisting in the preparation and running of practical sessions, stock control and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

Main Duties for this role include

• Carry out routine and annual maintenance to plumbing and electrical workshop facilities, including tools and plumbing systems.

• Monitor and support students undertaking practical plumbing and electrical activities to ensure safe and effective practice.

• Set up demonstration resources, ensuring all plumbing and electrical systems and components function as required (e.g., pipework assemblies, fittings, tools).

• Clean and prepare training equipment and materials for use by teaching staff and students.

• Maintain effective systems for the storage, stocking, and distribution of all consumables used in plumbing training.
