This Position reports to:
Production Manager

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Operational Technology (OT) Team at ELSP. OT is what keeps automated production systems running and data flowing in a factory. ABB seeks curious individuals looking to build hands-on experience in maintaining OT devices and software to ensure reliability and security of mission-critical hardware systems.

The work model for the role is onsite with a possibility of hybrid work.
This role is contributing to the ELSP Operations Team in Heidelberg.

You will be mainly accountable for

• Planning, executing and monitoring regular maintenance tasks on OT devices (hardware refreshes, backups, etc.)

• Implementing, reviewing and improving OT automations

• Developing and supporting software applications for supporting manufacturing processes

• Collaborating on the definition of internal OT standards

• Implementing and revising data extraction and transformation pipelines for manufacturing data analytics

• On-site engagement with end-users

• Engagement with a diverse set of tools, programming languages, and challenges

Qualifications for the role

• Academic background in engineering, natural sciences or information technology or related fields

• Experience with software development and computer systems

• Proven knowledge of script languages, ideally PowerShell or Batch

• Curious nature with a drive to bring results as an independent contributor in a highly skilled team

• Fluency in German and primary availability for on-site work
