As a Mechanical & Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of mechanical systems and welded structures. You will conduct inspections, verify adherence to codes and standards, and provide technical guidance to ensure safe and reliable operations. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, construction, and quality teams to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
Responsibilities
Inspection & Compliance:
• Perform detailed inspections of mechanical systems, piping, and welded joints.
• Verify compliance with ASME, AWS, API, and other applicable codes and standards.
• Document inspection results and issue non-conformance reports when required.
Welding Oversight:
• Review welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance tests.
• Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures.
• Conduct visual and dimensional checks, as well as NDT (UT, RT, MT, PT) when applicable.
Mechanical Systems:
• Inspect installation of mechanical equipment, piping, and structural supports.
• Ensure proper alignment, tolerances, and material specifications are met.
• Oversee hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of mechanical systems.
Quality Assurance:
• Maintain inspection records and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality and safety.
• Participate in audits and client inspections.
Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with safety regulations and site policies.
• Report unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with project engineers, contractors, and QA/QC teams.
• Provide technical support and guidance to welding and mechanical teams.

Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical and welding inspection, preferably in power plants, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with NDT techniques and inspection tools
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in challenging site environments with strict deadlines.
