We're looking for a true operator- someone who knows what great looks like in day-to-day operations, who leads from the front, and who can confidently run a complex, multimillion dollar maintenance function across Australia and New Zealand.
As the ANZ Maintenance Manager, you'll own the end-to-end proactive and reactive maintenance for all bp retail assets. Your mission is simple and critical: Keep every site safe, compliant, reliable, and performing at its best - every day.
This role is safety critical for our business. You must bring strong operational field experience, proven leadership, and sharp commercial judgement to thrive.

- A seasoned operations manager who knows how retail, field, or asset-heavy environments actually run.
- A proven leader of diverse, technical, geographically dispersed teams.
- Commercially sharp - able to own a $60M budget, interpret data, make informed decisions, and drive performance.
- Strong in contractor and supplier management, able to negotiate, influence, and hold partners to safety and commercial standards.
- A safety leader who sets the tone, models the behaviours, and refuses to compromise.

What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
- Own day-to-day maintenance performance across the ANZ retail network.
- Ensure every site operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Anticipate operational issues early and take decisive action.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and grow a high-performing, geographically dispersed technical team.
- Create clarity of roles, standards, and expectations.
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and "Safety First."
- Provide regular coaching, reviews, and development opportunities.
Commercial & Strategic Delivery
- Manage a $60M maintenance budget with precision and transparency.
- Analyse operational and financial data to drive smart decisions and cost efficiency.
- Lead annual maintenance planning aligned to safety, compliance, and business priorities.
- Deliver performance improvements, risk reduction, and value optimisation.
Contractor & Supplier Management
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Lead contract governance and supplier performance evaluations.
- Negotiate effectively to ensure commercial value without compromising safety.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships while holding partners accountable.
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Model outstanding safety behaviours - zero shortcuts.
- Ensure every maintenance activity meets bp's safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Embed safety thinking in every decision, plan, and contractor interaction.
- Drive a culture where people feel responsible for safety, not just compliant.
Qualifications & Experience
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, or Business.
- Demonstrated leadership of technical or operational teams across multiple regions.
- Strong commercial competence, including budget ownership and financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience managing large contracts and third-party suppliers.
- Deep understanding of operational risk, safety leadership, and compliance.
- Facilities Management or asset-heavy retail experience is highly valued.
- Proficiency in SAP, ARIBA, and the MS Office Suite.
