What are we looking for?

Under general supervision, the Fuels Technician oversees and maintains fueling activities and fuel systems throughout the company. Assists in maintaining a fuel inventory.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary for this position is $15.34. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:
  • Receives fuel deliveries via tanker truck. Completes delivery paperwork.
  • Be proficient with Fuel inventory management and software.
  • Maintain Daily, Monthly fuel inventory.
  • Performs fuel transfers as required to maintain engine lab operations.
  • Takes fuel samples for analysis.
  • Maintains the tote area for proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness
  • Inspects fuel lines for leaks or damage. Notifies Mechanical Systems if repairs are needed.
  • Assists engineers with special fuel needs.
  • Performs periodic inspections of tanks and observation wells.
  • Operate forklift as required.
  • Responsible for complying with departmental ISO and Safety procedures.
  • Assist performing a wash out for underground tanks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High School or GED required.
  • Basic mechanical skills and experience with tools
  • Computer skills: proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends for short notice assignments.
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats.
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties.
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • DOT & IATA certification.
  • Fuel receiving experience.
  • Mechanical skills; plumbing fuel lines, replacing gauges, valves.
