Job Description

Job Title: Technician - Electrical

Department: Project Management (Technical Services)

Direct Supervisor: Lead - Electrical and Instrument

I

Job Purpose:

Execute HV/LV electrical testing and commissioning activities independently, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Support commissioning schedules and contribute to successful startup of electrical systems.

Key Result Areas:

• Perform HV/LV electrical testing and commissioning as per approved procedures.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, including LOTO and PPE usage.
• Review and validate electrical drawings, vendor documents, and FAT reports.
• Coordinate with supervisors for permit-to-work and MEI walk-through activities.
• Monitor vendor activities and ensure adherence to commissioning standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate commissioning documentation and reports.
• Support training and development of Bahraini nationals in commissioning tasks.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in commissioning processes.

Communications and Working Relationships:

Internal- Commissioning team, Project teams, Operations, HSE, Power Maintenance.

External- EPC contractors, vendors, OEM representatives.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

Educational level: Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Years of Experience: 5-8 years in electrical commissioning and startup.

Required background and Knowledge: Preferred holding CEP/AEP certificates.

Required soft skills: Excellent communication, safety compliance, documentation, teamwork.
