Serves as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for maintenance activities within the SM & EB units, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational continuity.
The role supports day-to-day field operations, coordinates with cross-functional teams, and drives continuous improvement in asset integrity and availability.
Position impacts both Maintenance Opex budget as well as some CAPEX budget.
Spend at least 50% of time in the field/shop overseeing pump rebuilds, equipment overhauls, and troubleshooting
Execute small projects and support field service coordination, including permit preparation
Support turnaround planning and execution, including early identification of maintenance needs
Track and follow major maintenance work and outages within assigned area
Responsible for maintaining an equipment asset value of $1,200 MM
Activities
Review daily maintenance notifications and operations logs to identify emerging issues
Interface daily with operations and coordinate the activities with GC, contractors, and technical teams to align priorities and resolve issues
Communicate daily summary of activities, risks, and mitigation strategies to business team leaders and site leadership
Write and manage work orders, purchase requisitions, and management of change
Monitor KPIs and equipment conditions using PI Processbook and other tools
Maintain and update equipment files, PM procedures, and bad actor lists
Ensure implementation of HSSE, availability, and asset integrity initiatives
Respond immediately to unplanned outages and support restoration efforts
Candidate Profile
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required. Other engineering degrees may be considered based on relevant experience
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a similar industrial maintenance role
Significant experience with SAP (WO's + Purchase to Pay), Excel, PowerPoint preferred
Demonstrates ability to read P&IDs, equipment files and plant specifications
Proven knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, gear boxes, compressors, exchangers motors, etc.) and ability to manage outages up to $2 million
