What's the role

Production Chemistry serves as the technical authority for all chemical applications within the production system, including the well. It operates at the intersection of development, wells, and production, representing production interests across these disciplines. The function aims to act as an integrator that enables the effective delivery of wells and production performance.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain and sustain laboratory facilities to ensure safety, uninterrupted operations, and full regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and continuously improve the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing work processes through CI (Continuous Improvement) Ways of Working.
• In partnership with the Senior Process Chemist and OGP Lab Supervisor, implement and sustain the SEAM EQP Process in OGP to ensure all products meet required specifications and legislative standards.
• Perform sampling, site testing, and laboratory analytical tasks as needed.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality laboratory data essential for production surveillance and optimization, regulatory submissions, project delivery, and legal and commercial compliance.
• Conduct experiments and studies to investigate, understand, and improve production performance.
• Execute routine and non‑routine sampling and onsite testing activities.
• Acquire new analytical techniques and competencies when required.
• Support the commissioning of new laboratory equipment and become proficient in its operation.
• Sustain ISO 17025 accreditation and effectively manage HSSE risks in the laboratory and at site.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and support the implementation of approved corrective actions.
• Perform structured sampling and testing according to established procedures.
• Maintain proficiency in LIMS and carry out responsibilities as a LIMS user.
• Adapt to rapidly changing operational demands, including responding on short notice and working effectively under pressure from operational uncertainties and project deadlines.
• Manage work activities in accordance with HSSE policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
• Provide weekend support or standby coverage as required.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in any Science-related field or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Willing to undertake a 2‑year contract assignment based in Bintulu.
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule.
• Proficient in interpreting laboratory analysis data and applying it to field operations.
• Strong ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
