RINA is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join a valuable Oil&Gas project in Egypt

Work Location: il Cairo

Working period: April - end of 2026

Working hours: 8 hours per day, 5/7

Main duties:

• Develop and Maintain Simulation Models: The engineer will build steady-state and dynamic models of chemical processes using software like HYSYS (as well as Aspen, Unisim, or Pro/II) . This includes defining thermodynamic models and mathematical equations that accurately represent process behavior .
• Perform Heat and Material Balances (HMB): A key output of any simulation is a detailed Heat and Material Balance. This quantifies all process flows, compositions, temperatures, and pressures, forming the basis for all subsequent design work .
• Optimize and Debottleneck Processes: The engineer will use simulation to identify areas for process improvement. This includes analyzing "what-if" scenarios to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve yields, or debottleneck existing operations to increase capacity 

• Create and Review PFDs and P&IDs: The engineer will be responsible for developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) based on simulations, and then translating those into detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) .
• Equipment Design and Sizing: Simulation data is used to perform detailed calculations for sizing equipment. This includes creating process datasheets for items like heat exchangers, distillation columns, pumps, and vessels .
• Develop Design Philosophies: The engineer will prepare key operating documents, such as Control Philosophies and Safeguarding Philosophies, which outline how the process will be safely controlled and protected .

• Lead or Support Project Phases:  guiding projects through various stages, from the initial conceptual design and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed design and even supporting commissioning and startup .
• Participate in Safety Reviews:  The engineer will actively participate in safety studies like HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) analyses, using their simulation expertise to assess risks and ensure designs are inherently safe .
• Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams:  coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation, electrical), operations, procurement, and vendors to ensure the design is feasible, integrated, and meets all requirements
