Instrumentation Technician (Commissioning/ Startup/Operation)

Location: Basra. Iraq. 28/28 Rotation

Role Overview

Responsible for calibration, installation verification, loop checking, and functional testing of field instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of process facilities during commissioning and startup.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Perform calibration and configuration of pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters in accordance with approved datasheets.
• Conduct loop checks from field instruments to marshalling cabinets, PLCs, and DCS systems.
• Verify control valve stroking, positioner calibration, and fail-safe action testing.
• Support functional testing of ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G), and safeguarding systems including trip verification.
• Ensure proper installation and termination of instrument cables, junction boxes, and panels.
• Assist vendor specialists during analyzer commissioning and package system testing.
• Maintain accurate calibration certificates and loop folders for turnover documentation.
• Comply with hazardous area requirements and ensure intrinsically safe installations are maintained.
• Assisting the operation team in Startup and shut down activities
• Carrying out Corrective and preventive maintenance
• Regular testing and calibration of fire and gas devices.
• Trouble shooting of packages and control systems.
• PTW handling including man power and equipment safety
