Job Overview

The R&M Specialist II - Downhole Completions is responsible for the inspection, testing, qualification, repair, and maintenance of downhole completion tools and associated equipment within the Completion product line.

The role performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with Company standards, technical work instructions, engineering drawings, test procedures, and industry best practices.

As a senior-level R&M Specialist, this position may lead and supervise maintenance activities carried out by other R&M personnel, ensuring operational efficiency, quality compliance, and adherence to HSE standards.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily operations meetings, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA); promptly report issues using appropriate Downhole Completions systems and reporting tools.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
  • Perform inspection, disassembly, repair, assembly, redress, and maintenance of Downhole Completion tools including packers, sleeves, safety valves, hangers, plugs, and associated completion assemblies.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pressure-control systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions in line with Company procedures and engineering guidelines.
  • Inspect used components for wear, corrosion, and dimensional deviation using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Perform and/or lead function testing, pressure testing, and calibration activities according to approved procedures and competency level.
  • Operate workshop equipment and lifting devices safely, including cranes, hoists, torque machines, hydraulic test units, and relevant test benches.
  • Complete all required documentation including Work Orders, inspection reports, test records, PFTs, AIRTs, and ensure accurate data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Accurately log labor hours within the Work Order tracking system.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering notices, technical bulletins, and revision-controlled documents.
  • Order parts, consumables, and repair kits in accordance with Company procurement processes.
  • Provide cost estimation input for tool redress and repair activities when required.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities aligned with LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties safely as assigned by the supervisor within operational requirements.

Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting capability in mechanical and hydraulic completion systems.
  • Proficiency in precision measurement, inspection techniques, and dimensional verification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of pressure testing procedures and quality documentation requirements.
  • Leadership capability to supervise and mentor junior R&M personnel.
  • Strong understanding of HSE standards, quality compliance, and operational risk control.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Basic planning and cost estimation capability.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Technical College certification.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Downhole Completions and/or Completion tool maintenance environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Willingness to work rotational schedules or live-in arrangements as required by operations.
