Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Instrument Technician Grade 5 to join the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD).

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires experienced, goal achiever and team leader who has flexibility to work across Northern Health campuses

This role is responsible for ensuring that all CSSD staff will have the knowledge and skills needed in reprocessing reusable medical devices within Standard

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services (HLT47015)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122)
  • Experience of 4 years (Fulltime equivalent) & above in reprocessing of reusable medical devices as Grade 5 Instrument Technician and good working knowledge of AS5369:2023 & NSQHS Standard
  • Previous experience as an Educator or Instructor in CSSD and/or Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in reprocessing endoscopes, loan sets processes
  • Well-developed organizational, problem solving and communication skills
