This role will lead complex diagnostic and repair efforts while supporting new product deployments and field trials for Mission service operations. The Senior Field Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing advanced repairs, conducting equipment inspections, and ensuring systems operate to full specification. This role will frequently serve as the technical resource and point of contact for customers and internal teams during service operations, providing expertise during troubleshooting and field support activities.

JOB SUMMARY
NOV is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Technician to support the service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PP&C equipment across our installed customer base. This role will lead complex diagnostic and repair efforts while supporting new product deployments and field trials for Mission service operations. The Senior Field Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing advanced repairs, conducting equipment inspections, and ensuring systems operate to full specification. This role will frequently serve as the technical resource and point of contact for customers and internal teams during service operations, providing expertise during troubleshooting and field support activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair equipment related to the PP&C product offering.
- Perform service and repair at both customer locations and NOV facilities.
- Disassemble equipment to diagnose issues and determine repairs.
- Inspect parts for corrosion, defects, breakage, or excessive wear during equipment evaluation.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment malfunction using schematics, assembly drawings, and operational testing.
- Request and install parts according to engineering instructions and technical documentation.
- Assemble and package Service Master Valves as required.
- Prepare components and surfaces to ensure proper assembly and to prevent damage during testing.
- Lead field troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance during complex service operations.
- Lead new product field trials as the PP&C technical point of contact with customers.
- Identify barriers to adopting new PP&C technology and communicate feedback from field personnel and customers.
- Travel on short notice to troubleshoot equipment or act as the NOV technical representative when customers experience NPT.
- Ensure all work meets NOV quality standards and departmental work instructions.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure full operational performance.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to lower-level technicians when required.
- Participate in training programs as identified by the Manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or trade school education in mechanical or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of oilfield experience, preferably working with frac-related equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong understanding of pressure-containing equipment and hydrostatic pressure testing processes.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex mechanical and operational issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Omega and other NOV ERP systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and medical examinations screenings.
- Must be able to pass a 3-year driving history background check.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and an ability to diagnose and solve problems.
- Must possess professional, clear, verbal and written communication skills.
- Unrestricted ability to travel and work overtime during weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift weights up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, reach and perform repetitive motions for up to 12 hours daily.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional reputation when interacting with customers and internal teams.
