Job Profile Summary
The Tank Maintenance & Inspection Lead (Asset Engineer) will:
Be accountable for inspection, integrity evaluation, and maintenance activities for BP's onshore above-ground storage tanks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, French regulation and BP internal procedures.
Provides asset health support by delivering the agreed Asset Performance improvements through monitoring of HAZOP, Barrier health and Iris action delivery (Audit / Barrier / SV actions) as well as supporting investigations and defect elimination.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Terminal Tank Maintenance program:
Be accountable for safe, on-time & on-budget delivery of Tank Turnarounds (TARs)
Implement of the tank integrity management strategy (RBI-based)
Manage the tank repair program team (contractors)
Manage the annual Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) budgets allocated to Tank repairs
Maintain up to date terminal documentation (procedures, drawings, technical documents) related to Tanks
Interface with group Subject Matter Experts and ensure alignment of local procedures and practices with bp requirements.
Interface with terminal departments (HSE, Control of Work, Operations, Cost management) to ensure smooth integration of tank repair program activities
Promote a strong safety culture within the Tank Repair program activities
Communicate regular program updates and KPIs (Project scorecard)
Ensure bp specifications and French legislation are complied with
Implement continuous improvement efforts for the Tank repair program
Be accountable for reviewing and approving tank inspection reports
Share and implement industry engineering protocol and changes in statutory engineering requirements.
Act as the Technical lead during Assurances, audits and inspections (both internal & external). Address identified gaps and findings and implement the agreed action plans
Participate to the Self Verification program. Propose corrective actions and supervise them to completion
Be a member of the Terminal emergency response team and follow a rigorous training program as well as participate to the terminal emergency drills
General terminal support through:
Technical support to operations e.g. input on fault finding and defect elimination as well as Investigate asset failures, identify root causes, and support implementation of corrective actions.
Engineering and reliability support e.g. Supporting the resolution of emergent engineering issues. Performing triage and decision-making and escalation of engineering issues to the central team.
project support through e.g. Provide assurance on commissioning activities and leverage engineering team resources where required. Carry out punch listing to ensure scopes have been completed accurately and support delivery

Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified engineer
- Understanding of API 653 and API 650, EEMUA 159, BS 2654, EN 14015 (desirable assessor certification for E EMUA 159 or API 650)
- Knowledge piping integrity and repair (e.g. API 570 ASME B31.3)
- Ability to evaluate structural integrity
- Inspection interval assessment using RBI techniques
- Strong documentation and compliance skills.
- Leadership of inspection teams.
- Experience in storage tank inspection/maintenance & repair including site supervision of work and planning activities
- Knowledge of regulatory tank inspection requirements specifically for France
- Background in maintenance engineering or field operations.
- Awareness of Cathodic Protection & tank foundation & bund integrity
- Fluent in French, very good English level with strong writing and verbal communication skills
