We are seeking a Junior Environmental Technician or Scientist to join our Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) team on Vancouver Island, supporting a range of projects in site assessment, remediation, and environmental monitoring. This role is ideal for a recent diploma or degree graduate, or a junior professional with some experience, who is looking to develop an environmental or engineering career. Reporting to a Project Manager or Coordinator, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside environmental specialists on projects such as contaminated site assessment and remediation, geotechnical field assessments, environmental permitting and monitoring, and hydrogeology field investigations.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $55,200 - $89,000 annually) . Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.

Your Role
- To work directly with Project Managers and project team members to meet client deliverables on time and on budget
- To conduct local and remote field work on diverse sites while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, environment, and community
- To execute field programs, with appropriate training, including drilling investigations, soil and sediment sampling, groundwater and soil vapour monitoring and sampling, remedial excavations, and environmental monitoring
- To coordinate and oversee contractors during field activities
- To calibrate, operate, and maintain field instruments and equipment
- To collect field data and prepare detailed documentation such as monitoring data, field notes, site sketches, photographs, and GPS data
- To submit field data and prepare summaries for project team members
About You
- Ability to apply a bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Environmental acScience, Geoscience, Engineering, Environmental or Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Aptitude for field-based environmental or engineering work, with 1 to 2 years of experience or recent graduate status
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of ArcGIS
- Ability to perform physically demanding field work, including lifting up to 40 lbs, working in varying climatic conditions, and traveling to remote locations
- Ability to communicate effectively, manage time efficiently, and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
