JOB PURPOSE:
Perform skilled repair and maintenance work on various equipment's related to hoisting system , mud system,
well control equipment's, rotating equipment's and other accessories related to the drilling rig. Direct assigned
technician & provide the supports to perform the given tasks. Maintain records and report to Coordinator, AMO,
CMT of parts required, work undertaken and time taken in order that correct charges can be apportioned.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
• Receives work orders and instructions from Coordinator, AMO, CMT, evaluate jobs, and determines
skill level required. Prepares requisitions for materials or equipment required, arranges transport or
other essentials and provides technical advice or instruction as necessary.
• Performs installation, maintenance and repair work requiring experience and a high degree of skill on
mechanical equipment. Includes arranging for fabricated or replacing parts of the above equipment,
adjusting to required specifications and testing before installation.
• Directs and participates in the work of other personnel making more routine repairs to mechanical
equipment. Includes checking work progress, of less experienced mechanics, providing technical
instruction, answering emergency calls to repair defective equipment; and inspecting completed work
for proper operation and conformity to craft and safety standards.
• Repairs, overhauls and reconditions equipment by dismantling, replacing or repairing parts. Includes
disassembling units or component parts, establishing faults, obtaining and installing appropriate part,
or mending or fabricating the same, using bench grinders, drill press, welding, soldering equipment and
hand tools.
• Tests equipment after repair and during field trouble-shooting. Includes tests after repair, checking
operation, repairing minor faults using a variety of testing equipment to detect leaks or breakdown in
systems.
• Reports work performed, spare parts and materials used and time charges incurred. Assists in the
preparation of field requisitions to obtain spare parts and materials from the warehouse.
• Complies with and ensures the compliance of subordinates to all safety regulations and practices during
the course of work. Directs crane operator in moving and re-locating parts to and from the site and
within the workshop.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
• Completion of Secondary School Education (High School) plus 3 years formal training in a mechanical
trade.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
• 6 years' experience in rig work four of which in the installation and maintenance of drilling equipment
and rig machinery.
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
