Base Location:Slough Power Station

Salary:SS06 £43,704 - £51,484 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern:Permanent | Full Time

The role

As Control and Instrument Technician, you'll utilise your expertise to help keep station plant and equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently, delivering a consistently high standard of work across control and instrumentation systems.

As a key member of the engineering team, you'll play an active role in delivering the site maintenance programme and planned outage work scopes.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;
  • The day-to-day maintenance of station Control and instrumentation assets, including reactive and proactive work as instructed by the EC&I Engineer, and in conjunction with the planning team.
  • Support the delivery of site projects, ensuring alignment with SSE and station strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor resources to deliver work in line with SHE, technical and commercial requirements.
  • Setting and maintaining high standards in Safety, Health and Environment, ensuring that all statutory obligations and SSE safety rules are complied with and that accurate records are kept.
  • The fault finding and rectification of Control and instrumentation circuits

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have;
  • A minimum qualification of City & Guilds 1 & 2 or equivalent, and have served a recognised apprenticeship in Control and instrumentation Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of DCS control systems and PLCs.
  • Competency in the use of Maximo for work control
  • Work controller authorised
  • Authorised person for LV electrical equipment
