Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Welding Inspector to join our Oil & Gas project team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring welding activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and quality requirements. Candidates should possess hands-on inspection experience in industrial or oil & gas projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR and project specifications.
- Perform visual inspection of weld joints, fit-up, alignment, and welding consumables.
- Monitor welding parameters and verify welder qualifications/certifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams, supervisors, and subcontractors regarding inspection activities.
- Review fabrication drawings, welding procedures, and quality documents.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, and Aramco standards where applicable.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, and daily quality records.
- Witness NDT activities and verify test results when required.
- Ensure compliance with HSE and site quality requirements.
- Saudi Nationality is mandatory.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2 years of experience as a Welding Inspector in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial projects.
- Knowledge of welding inspection procedures and QA/QC documentation.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME/API/AWS).
- CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Basic understanding of NDT methods and welding processes.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural project environment.
- Experience in pipeline, fabrication, or refinery projects.
- Familiarity with Saudi Aramco project standards is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
