About the job

In this role, you will be working in our Maintenance & Logistics (Electrical) Department, supporting Al-Awalia's operations by ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems across critical material handling equipment.

Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
  • Perform on-site electrical maintenance activities for grab-type ship unloaders, bulk material handling systems, conveyors, and stackers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and practices at site.
  • Carry out inspections, identify issues, and report findings promptly to the supervisor.
  • Execute maintenance tasks with high quality standards and within planned schedules.
  • Prepare and submit work completion reports, checklists, and progress updates.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report near misses, unsafe acts, and incidents, supporting mitigation actions.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Comply with standard work instructions and supervisor guidance.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, service providers, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Engage with colleagues and stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Support teamwork, collaboration, and quality of work across departments.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.

About you

For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
  • ITI Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Basic command of the English language.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems including motors, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution (LV & MV).
  • Familiarity with bulk material handling equipment such as conveyors, stackers, and ship unloaders is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFD drives, soft starters, and industrial communication systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and perform cabling and termination work.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance safety practices.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
