Job Role Description
The associate physical testing technician is responsible for performing analytical and physical tests on solids, gases, and liquids - such as polymers, films, fabricated parts, reservoir materials, liquids, etc.
- using established characterization methods under supervision. The role involves operating at least one technique (e.g. microscopy, spectroscopy, rheology), interpreting results, documenting findings accurately, and maintaining equipment. The technician ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality operations in line with operational integrity standards
Job Role Responsibilities
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of physical testing, as well as characterization principles for solids, gases and liquids such as polymers, film structures, fabricated parts, reservoir rock and fluids, etc.
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating the most basic physical tests and demonstrates and of at least one analytical characterization technique, such as microscopy, spectroscopy, rheology, etc.
- Maintains clear and consistent communication with scientists and team members to ensure effective collaboration, timely updates on research progress, and alignment of project goals
- Knows and adheres to operational integrity by consistently following safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Analyzes results using reference data and established interpretation methods to ensure process accuracy and product quality
- Reports data / findings clearly and promptly, documenting all relevant data for effective use across ExxonMobil
