Purpose of the position: As Soil Mechanics Engineer, you will respond to the Operational Leader and to the Head of Department and be part of the Energy Carriers Business line .

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:
  • Perform Soil Mechanics and geotechnical engineering activities in compliance with assigned budget, schedule, technical specifications, and quality standards, consistently delivering accurate and timely outputs.
  • Perform technical tasks assigned by the Project Specialist Leader, including design, verification, and study activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and requirements. Execute geotechnical analyses (bearing capacity, settlements, slope stability), estimate soil bearing capacity, define shallow and deep foundation solutions, and prepare/check calculation reports.
  • Analyze tender documentation, support the definition of soil investigation campaigns and related cost estimates, identify technical queries, deviations and alternative solutions, and contribute to proposal activities during bidding phases. Identify critical soil conditions requiring non-standard approaches with impacts on quantities and schedule and support project teams in resolving complex or non-standard geotechnical issues.
  • Interface with Project Specialists, Designers, and other disciplines; coordinate technical activities performed both within and outside the Company, ensuring consistency and integration of deliverables. Prepare technical annexes for subcontracting, issue and update technical specifications, and check key project documents related to soil activities in compliance with internal procedures. Review vendor documentation, support qualifications of geotechnical suppliers, verify cost estimates, and contribute to the technical evaluation process.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and site activities (including supervision of piling and ground improvement works), maintain awareness of state-of-the-art practices, improve engineering tools, scout new technologies, and ensure capitalization and proper recording of project experience.

What are we looking for?

Education: Master's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Energy industry

Languages: English B2

Technical Skills:
  • Contributes across all project phases-from tendering to execution-by turning geotechnical data into practical, cost-effective solutions, with strong focus on constructability, risk mitigation, and support to engineering decisions.
  • Proactively identifies challenging ground conditions and develops robust, defensible strategies, ensuring reliable outcomes in complex and non-standard scenarios.
  • Effectively operates in multidisciplinary and international environments, facilitating coordination between engineering, procurement, and site teams, while promoting innovation and the adoption of advanced geotechnical practices.

IT Skills:
  • Advanced familiarity with the Microsoft Office package.
  • Advanced knowledge of software and tools for geotechnical solutions (e.g., PLAXIS, LEM methods, GEO5).
  • Basic knowledge of tools related to 2D drawing and 3D modeling (e.g. CAD, TEKLA STRUCTURES).

What else should you know? You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work for and within the assigned scope.
