As a Project Lead and Consultant in SAP's Data Management & Landscape Transformation (DMLT) team, you will lead the delivery of the data migration and transformation workstream in strategic customer projects. You'll combine hands-on consulting expertise with strong project leadership to ensure smooth execution, alignment, and customer satisfaction throughout all phases of the engagement.

SAP is looking for a Project Lead Consultant. As a Project Lead and Consultant in SAP's Data Management & Landscape Transformation (DMLT) team, you will lead the delivery of the data migration and transformation workstream in strategic customer projects. You'll combine hands-on consulting expertise with strong project leadership to ensure smooth execution, alignment, and customer satisfaction throughout all phases of the engagement.
- Lead and manage the DMLT workstream within complex SAP transformation projects - ensuring scope, timeline, quality, and budget are achieved.
- Define, plan, and track all DMLT-related project activities and deliverables across the full lifecycle.
- Act as the main point of contact for all DMLT topics within the customer project and orchestrate collaboration across Solution Architects, Delivery@Scale teams, and regional or global stakeholders.
- Validate project plans, resource needs, and efforts during pre-sales and delivery phases to ensure readiness and feasibility.
- Conduct DMLT internal kick-off meetings, define project charters and RACIs, and align with other project streams and customer leads.
- Drive stakeholder management and ensure clear and consistent communication between SAP, customer, and partner teams.
- Manage DMLT project scope, change requests, and dependencies - ensuring controlled execution and formal customer sign-off at key milestones (Q-Gates).
- Track project progress, consumption, and effort forecast, and provide regular project updates (burn rate, PPC, forecast, risk).
- Manage risk, issue, and escalation processes jointly with Solution Architects (RAID Management).
- Oversee cutover preparation and execution for DMLT scope (in collaboration with the Cutover Manager if applicable).
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained and project closure activities are completed (lessons learned, document archiving, success story).
- Collaborate closely with Delivery@Scale (D@S) managers to coordinate offshore and nearshore resources effectively.
- Actively contribute to improving delivery excellence by sharing learnings, templates, and best practices within DMLT.
What You Will Bring
Content Focus (ideally 3-5 topics mentioned below):
- 3-7 years of experience in SAP consulting, project management, or delivery of data migration and transformation projects.
- Solid understanding of SAP system landscapes, data migration approaches, and transformation methodologies (ideally within S/4HANA transition programs).
- Proven experience in leading project workstreams or full projects, preferably in multi-country or large-scale SAP transformation initiatives.
- Strong familiarity with project management standards (scope, planning, risk, issue, and change management) and the ability to translate them into practical execution.
- Hands-on experience with SAP migration tools and methods (e.g., Migration Cockpit, Data Services, or equivalent) is a strong plus.
- High level of business process understanding across key areas such as Finance, Logistics, or HR; ability to connect data needs with process implications.
Business acumen:
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills - able to engage confidently with customers, SAP leadership, and technical teams.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risks and manage complexity.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages (especially German) are an asset.
- High level of self-motivation, ownership, and accountability - capable of driving results in a dynamic, distributed, and global organization.
- Willingness to travel (10-30%) across EMEA and occasionally globally.
- Strong communication skills to articulate points clearly and facilitate discussions effectively
- Active listening skills to understand participants' viewpoints and manage group dynamics.
- Emotional intelligence to navigate different personalities and manage conflicts.
- Organizational and time-management skills to keep sessions productive and on track.
- Neutrality and objectivity to avoid taking sides or influencing outcomes unfairly
