We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Lead. We are entering a new phase at XXL, and with Frasers Group as our new owners, we have an exciting time ahead. The Construction Project Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering key store construction and refurbishment projects across both new and existing retail locations, including headquarters-related projects. The role involves managing cross-functional collaboration between procurement, commercial, design, IT, and operations teams to ensure on-time, cost-efficient, and high-quality delivery that meets customer and business needs. You will drive continuous improvement, establish best practices, and support strategic goals through effective project execution.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for planning, executing, and following up on construction and expansion projects for XXL
• Coordinate internal and external resources - from project initiation to handover
• Monitor project schedules, resource use, quality, budget, and HSE
• Ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines
• Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and development-focused working environment
• Establish and maintain strong project communication with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Initiate and implement improvement measures and new routines related to project execution and risk management

Qualifications:

• Relevant education in construction, engineering, project management, or equivalent experience
• Documented experience with large construction or expansion projects, preferably within logistics or warehouse operations
• Strong understanding of project finances, progress planning, process management, and contract follow-up
• Experience working with external suppliers, project organization, and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English
• Familiarity with digital tools for project management, financial control, and collaboration
• Advantageous with experience in automated warehouse solutions, technical understanding, and improvement work
