As an FRA Lead Project Manager, you will be operating at a senior level within the FRA Department and be expected to support and manage FRA projects as directed in order to facilitate the successful delivery of high-quality FRA work and project delivery, as commissioned through Bellrock brands.
As FRA Lead Project Manager, you will support the Head of FRA in the delivery of a selected portfolio of some of our most prestigious FRA projects. This will include a focus on nurturing key client relationships as we focus on a true consultative approach, ensuring that our clients not only receive a great service and technical excellence but also understand how to implement our findings. Taking ownership of some of our key accounts and developing new opportunities through relationship building will be central to your role.
You will lead a new project to embed a new team whose focus will be supporting Bellrock wider client base on FRA services, being the main technical lead as the 'trusted advisor' to clients, providing support and solutions to issues identified and developing strong client relationships.
As a trusted advisor for clients, you will use tests of proportionality and the benefit gained from the preventive and protective measures taken in response to risk. This, in turn, allows consideration of cost for clients. While cost is unlikely to be a fully determinative factor, it cannot be dismissed in the context of building fire safety use cost-benefit considerations to test whether something is proportionate and "reasonably practicable". it is important that you establish that the advice provided is a risk-proportionate measure, taking into account other risk factors and fire safety features of the building.
You will also need to develop a firm grasp on the commercial levers to drive revenue and profitability and understand and manage against attritional factors that can reduce the gross margin of the key accounts you have ownership of. Along with the Head of FRA you will be responsible for contributing to the growth of the FRA Department.
As well as this you will be a role model for junior or less experienced consultants and encouraged to be a proactive member of a high performing team, sharing your knowledge and experience to help develop other team members. This includes upholding and abiding to both the company and professional bodies code of conduct and culture.
Within role, it is expected that the as an FRA Lead Project Manager you will assist in the development and mentoring of members of the FRA team where needed. In addition, another key area is that you will be expected to undertake technical Quality Control (QC) peer review work for employee report submissions, acting as a focal point for technical fire safety queries. All as part of a supportive, collaborative team effort.
The role will involve travel to job sites as required and attendance at regional offices on occasion. We like to schedule a training/CPD day at least once per quarter and also make use of this time for team bonding and experience sharing. There is also the expectation that you will be responsible for managing and planning your time in advance, working with our project support team and to meet Client needs. We also have a dedicated project support coordinator within the team to remove some of the admin side of things.

And as a FRA Lead Project Manager with Oakleaf, you'll do it by...
- Oversee the delivery of projects, providing and maintaining a technically compliant service and high-quality deliverable.
- Support and lead FRA dept implementation and ongoing management of the FRA process and FRA competency framework
- Be the technical lead across Bellrock wider services on FRA to build out client relationships and act as a fire safety trusted advisor to ensure a proportionate to risk approach is adopted
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of work for self in order to meet the prescribed utilisation rates.
- FRA schedule to average 3 days out on site per week, focusing on HRB/Complex buildings
- Ensure all FRA reports are written up with SLA requirements and are presented to a high standard
- To be proactive in supporting SLA requirements on QC process
- Develop key client accounts and be their professional and trusted point of contact for the client
- Act as the focal point for project engagements
- Ensuring the successful delivery of the project(s)
- Actively engage with the clients within you allocated project portfolio ensuring regular meetings are taking place. Minimum of once a month for each project.
- Manage client meeting agendas and trackers to monitor client portfolio/performance
- Manage and maintain profitability and gross margin of work delivery.
- Assist in the creation and development of reporting outputs, survey methodologies and project management tasks.
- Assist in supporting sustainable service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base.
- Support development of colleagues, where appropriate, so they have the skills and motivation to undertake their roles.
- Responsible for setting a project's overall direction and vision, while also managing its practical aspects like budgets, timelines, and resources
- Lead on providing on-site mentoring for colleagues as part of the career development pathways
- Ensure the delivery of a professional and exceptional service to clients.
- Where applicable to assist Principals on the QC process on validation of FRAs to BAFE SP205
- Adhere to the FRA process and competency frameworks
- Align with BS8674 requirements
- Act in professional manner, with the correct ethical traits
- While scheduling site visits, ensure you adhere to the expenses and driving policies of Bellrock, any overnight stay require line manage approval
- Adopt FRA team 'new ways of working' as part of FRA process framework

Your knowledge, skills and qualifications
- Professional membership at Member level with a Fire related professional body
- At least 5 years demonstrable experience in managing teams
- Sound knowledge of fire safety and fire risk, with a minimum of 5-years' experience including demonstrable experience in conducting FRAs
- Already on the Tier 3 FRA NAFRAR
- A level 6 qualification (fire related), or studying towards
- Ability to undertake the full range of Type 1-4 FRAs
