Electrician - MEICA

Environment Agency Framework (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls & Automation)
Location: North West (Site-based with travel, Regional Office - Warrington)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established national engineering contractor as an Electrician, supporting a busy and fast-paced engineering maintenance team. You'll be involved in a wide range of planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance tasks, as well as minor project works. This role offers long-term security through our ongoing maintenance framework agreements with a key client in the water sector.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrician with experience in the water industry or similar industrial maintenance field based electrical role, particularly on pumping stations, water control assets, and associated instrumentation.

You will typically work as part of a two-person team alongside a Mechanical Fitter, delivering PPM, reactive maintenance, and small project works.

As an Electrician, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of electrical maintenance activities across our engineering maintenance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health, safety and welfare of all personnel under your control, in line with company and client requirements.
  • Promote and uphold all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Report unsafe practices and champion a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Deliver works to programme and budget, ensuring compliance with:
    • Relevant legislation
    • Contract terms and conditions
    • Health & Safety and Environmental plans
    • Client Works Package Plans and Task Briefings
    • Approved drawings, specifications and company procedures
  • Maintain high-quality standards, ensuring work is completed "right first time".
  • Monitor progress to ensure contract objectives are met.
  • Identify, manage and record changes to scope.
  • Maintain robust site records (diaries, allocation sheets, plant logs etc.).
  • Provide progress updates to the Project Manager/Site Agent.
  • Escalate issues that cannot be resolved at site level.
  • Identify training needs for operatives under your supervision.
  • Deliver method statement briefings and task briefings.
  • Work with client systems including:
    • Viewing live/historical asset data
    • Configuration, software upload/download
    • Modifying sequences
    • Testing communications and electrical installations
    • Connecting instrumentation
    • Firmware updates
    • Uploading saved configurations
    • Installation of electrical equipment on site
  • Undertake fault-finding, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
  • Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota as required.
  • Carry out any additional tasks reasonably requested by line management.

Requirements
  • Approved Electrician
  • Experience within the water industry (pumping stations, water control devices, instrumentation)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical
  • AM2
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection
  • 18th Edition
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across the North West (Scottish Borders to Merseyside/Manchester)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (training provided)
  • Willingness to participate in the call-out rota (24/7, 365 days)
