If you're motivated by the chance to shape services that genuinely change lives, this is a role where your work will matter every single day.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our compassionate, inclusive, and values-driven organisation during a significant period of change as we continue our transition to integrated commissioning across the Local Authority (CYC) and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

We are seeking a motivated individual with substantial NHS or Local Authority commissioning experience. As a member of the Integrated Commissioning Team, you will collaborate with the Team Manager and ICB partners to provide technical commissioning advice, ensuring effective communication and implementation across organizations, while developing systems and processes for robust commissioning and reporting.

This role also involves collaborating with various directorates to ensure that the Commissioning Cycle is effectively embedded throughout the organisation. A strong understanding of legislation, excellent communication skills, and experience in performance management and team evaluation are essential.

You will represent health and social care commissioning, navigating organisational boundaries to align with national and local priorities. In partnership with contract managers, you will oversee the commissioning and contracting of services, ensuring that contracts meet the ICB and CYC core priorities.

York is a wonderful place to live and work, known for its rich culture and opportunities.

If you are an enthusiastic and motivated individual committed to high standards and positive outcomes, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants must demonstrate their ability to converse in spoken English at CEFR level C1 during the interview.

The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
