About the Role:
The postholder will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of adult social care in Cheshire West and Chester where you will be responsible for:
- Outcomes-based Commissioning - developing and implementing commissioning projects from inception to mobilisation that addresses the needs of older people across our borough. There will be a focus on developing new models of care which are strengths and asset based, person centred, high quality and value for money
- Leading a commissioning portfolio which is underpinned by community-led support, ensuring coproduction and strength-based approaches are embedded throughout the commissioning cycle
- Market Shaping - working with a diverse range of providers to develop sustainable and high-quality care and support that delivers person-centred services
- Performance Management - monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of commissioned services, ensuring value for money and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Engagement - building strong and lasting relationships with service users, carers, providers, and other key stakeholders
- Data Analysis - utilising data and intelligence to inform commissioning decisions and identify areas for improvement.
About You:
- You will have a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the public sector, in particular the increasing pressures surrounding our ageing population
- You will possess significant experience in commissioning within a Social Care or Health environment
- You will have excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- You will be able to analyse data and use it to inform effective decision-making
- You will be committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
- You will have a degree level or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience commensurate with this role within Social Care, Health, or related field
- You will have a flexible and resilient approach to your role and possess the ability to confidently manage competing priorities
- You will have the opportunity and available resources to travel across our borough
