IMG's Studios team are looking for a Lead Project Engineer to manage and deliver engineering projects for IMG, improving and expanding technical facilities.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Ownership of the delivery of engineering projects.
  • Lead and assist with technical workflows.
  • Make key technical equipment decisions and assist with procurement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal/external clients and suppliers.
  • Create and manage project documentation including but not limited to-project timelines, workflow/system schematics and cable schedules.
  • Liaising with external wireman regarding scheduled works
  • Line management responsibilities for Engineers
  • Leading the training and development of knowledge and experience within the Engineering team on the core equipment and software under your brief to ensure consistent quality of support at all times.
  • You must be prepared to develop your skills to cover all aspects of the broadcast chain. This includes keeping yourself informed and educated as to new technical developments and operational practices. Understanding the applications and challenges faced by the industry is essential in keeping IMG ahead of the curve in reliability and service levels.
  • Using available tools to analyse systems for technical integrity and complex fault resolution, you will understand all technology used within your responsibility, and the relevant underlying engineering principles.
  • Working as part of a wider dynamic engineering team towards engineering excellence including developments and special projects within IMG's Studios.
  • Shared monitoring and compliance with all Health and Safety across the Engineering team.
  • To provide leadership cover for the other Lead Engineers.
  • To pro-actively participate and share the responsibility for the recruitment, management, pastoral care, and supervision of the general Engineering Team.
  • Document, and communicate both technical and operational issues when required, including assisting with the proper maintenance of the Asset Register.
  • To work in a consultative and advisory capacity on projects directly related to existing business needs, growth, new business pitches and RFPs. This advisory role will include all aspects of typical consultancy covering written documents, the preparation of diagrams to depict workflow and full budget preparation.
  • Maintain and update any paperwork required as efficiently as possible.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong experience working in Broadcast and IT within an engineering capacity.
  • Previous project delivery experience.
  • Proven experience in Broadcast IP network design and implementation - SMPTE 2022, 2110, NMOS.
  • Strong IT and Networking skills.
  • Good ability to manage and develop Engineers
  • Project management experience is desirable.

Working Conditions
  • This is a permanent role is based at our facility in Stockley Park, Uxbridge
  • The core working hours are Monday- Friday office hours.
  • You will occasionally be required to work late nights or weekends for technology migration or other works/events relating to this area of responsibility.
