Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position: As Pipeline Welding Operator you will be part of the Offshore E&C/Asset Based Service Business Line. The Pipeline Welding Operator is responsible for high-quality welding on pipeline with approved welding procedures and safety requirements. With good welding skills with the manual welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW on Carbon steel materials and stainless steel materials, you will be assigned onshore on our fabrication yards or offshore on our laying vessels (worldwide position).

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Proven experience as welder with welding skills with GTAW, SMAW and FCAW welding processes
• Ability to weld in required positions, including 5G, 2G and 6G where applicable
• Ability to perform weld repairs with manual welding processes
• Experience as pipeline welder is an added positive experience, otherwise experience on piping plant
• Possesion of Welder Qualification certificates

What are we looking for?

Education: Welder trained in Welding school with several welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW as minimum), on carbon steel and stainless-steel materials, several welding positions (2G, 5G, 6G ), capable de perform welding repairs including gouging

Experience: 5 years minimum as a Qualified Welder within pipeline or piping industry with strong experience in manual welding (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) , Pipeline Welding Operator with Mechanized GMAW welding system will be an additional value for the candidate.

Languages: English speaking, reading, writing

Technical/IT Skills: Welder qualifications certificates

What else should you know? The activity will start with an intensive training on Saipem Welding systems - GMAW- used for the welding of pipeline in our Pipeline Technologies Center in Romania. Then the future assignment will be on our projects on fabrication yards (worldwide) or offshore onboard our laying vessels
